Ideal Boilers’ millionth Logic boiler was produced on Monday 13th October and will be installed in Coventry’s Mercia Therapy Centre.

The Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull, Councillor Mary Glew was on hand at Ideal Boilers to help celebrate the manufacture of their millionth boiler in the award-winning Logic range, as it came off the production-line on Monday October 13th.

The Lord Mayor toured the factory with Ideal’s Operations Director Doug Lloyd and met some of the staff, including longest-serving employee Melvyn Simpson who joined Ideal on 3rd April 1962 when he was 15 years old and has worked for the company for 52 years.

Ideal’s Head of Marketing, Carrie Young commented: “We were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull yesterday to celebrate the production of the millionth Logic boiler this month with us. We’re continuing celebrations with our staff and loyal installers.

“Each Ideal employee will receive a lottery ticket as a gift from the company and we will be running an online free prize draw to win a Logic Boiler for our installers.

“The millionth boiler will now be going to independent charity, the Mercia Therapy Centre, based in Coventry. The Centre Administrator contacted us to ask for help with replacing an old, inefficient and expensive heating system and we wanted to give our millionth boiler a special home, while helping out an excellent cause.”

The Mercia Therapy Centre provides therapies to people with Multiple Sclerosis and other long term conditions. They also provide treatment to children with Cerebral Palsy and Autism. Centre Manager, Zoe Seville-Edden said: “We contacted Ideal in September to see if they could help us with our fundraising efforts but were delighted when they offered to donate a boiler and arrange for it to be installed. We were overwhelmed by their generosity, this will mean so much to our staff and patients.”
