Emma Wray wins second "Apprentice of the Month" accolade

Emma Wray has been announced as the Apprentice of the Month winner for August via the award’s social media channels.
Emma, who is carrying out her apprenticeship in the maintenance department of Huddersfield University, received fantastic feedback from the judges on the work she carries out and how she goes above and beyond in her apprenticeship.
Apprentice of the Month aims to champion the great work apprentices do on a daily basis and encourage young people to be proud of the industry they work in. When asked about what the award win meant to her, Emma said: “Winning this award feels like a great achievement for me as it shows that there’s a great deal or support within the industry. I always try my best when working and achievements like the Apprentice of the Month awards make it worthwhile.
“The award came to my knowledge through Twitter, which has a great online community of people within the industry who all support and encourage each other. As a young woman in such a great and ever evolving industry I always try and encourage young people to enter a trade, as it brings so many opportunities. Winning this award shows that anything can be capable no matter who you are.”
Apprentice of the Month was established by the industry famous Heating Installer Awards after significant demand from apprentices for a simple awards scheme that acknowledged those still in training. The awards is open to apprentices at any stage of their training and is sponsored by Polypipe, Sentinel, Vaillant UK and Wolseley. The judging process to decide each month’s winner is an equal split between individual judges’ feedback, and a public vote.
To be considered for next month’s award, plumbing and heating apprentices should visit the Apprentice of the Month website and fill out the entry form, where they can also view full terms and conditions.
