Practical action drives real sustainability – and installers are key

In a year shaped by global uncertainty, Grundfos grew steadily in 2025 by providing smarter, more efficient water and climate solutions. The company welcomed millions more people into safe water access, helped customers cut their energy use, and reduced its own emissions.

2025 also marks the first year where Grundfos presents financial and sustainability results side by side — signalling a company leading in both performance and responsibility.

And for installers, this progress is not just a corporate headline but a direct part of their everyday work. The impact of Grundfos’ technologies is truly unlocked when high efficiency pumps are selected, installed and commissioned with the professionalism installers bring to the field, turning global sustainability progress into real world energy savings in homes and buildings.

Energy savings happen inside the heating system

Up to 95% of a circulator pump’s total environmental impact comes from its operation, not its production. That means installers play a decisive role in CO₂ reductions in homes and small buildings.

Neal Saunders, Sales Director DBS at Grundfos, said:

“One of the reasons Grundfos delivers such strong sustainability results is that we offer some of the most energy efficient pumps on the market. Installers play an important role in bringing those benefits to life. Their choices, setup and commissioning ensure that the pump performs as intended and that the system achieves the energy savings it was designed for. When a pump is not running optimally, it can use more energy than necessary — even if the technology is highly efficient. So, installers are key in succeeding with CO₂ reductions.”

ALPHA2 GO makes correct commissioning simple

This is where the new ALPHA2 GO circulator comes in. Combined with the Grundfos GO app, installers get a Guided Setup that translates just a few inputs into the right operating mode and setpoint for the specific heating system. The app also supports replacement of both standalone and integrated pumps in heat pumps, gas boilers and district heating units — making commissioning faster, safer and fully documented.

“The easier we make it to get the settings right, the more sustainable the final installation becomes,” Neal added. “With ALPHA2 GO, installers can deliver measurable reductions in energy use and is exactly the kind of practical contribution that makes an impact of the overall sustainability results.”

Practical circularity for installers

Grundfos’ sustainability achievements – like a 25% CO₂ reduction since 2020, 93% progress towards halving water use in operations, and maintaining EcoVadis Platinum – are not abstract goals but linked to practical actions in the field. And one of the initiatives installers help bring to life is Grundfos’ Take Back scheme, where old circulators are collected, dismantled and clean fractions such as copper and aluminium are recycled with selected components remanufactured into new high efficiency circulators. It gives installers a simple and credible way to bring circular economy into their business and tells customers a clear story: old circulators become new value and support the transition to sustainable, future ready heating systems.

Sustainability is also powered by people

But sustainability at Grundfos is driven not only by technology, but by the actions of its people. All employees worldwide are encouraged to take up to three paid volunteer days each year to support projects that strengthen their local communities — for example improving access to water or restoring nature. These small, hands-on efforts create meaningful impact when multiplied across a global organisation.

Neal concluded: “Naturally, advanced technologies like ALPHA2 GO move the sustainability needle in a big way. But it’s just as important that we empower both our customers and our own people to make a difference. When colleagues help their local community, it shows that sustainability isn’t just engineered — it’s lived and reinforces Grundfos’ belief that sustainability grows from thousands of small, human contributions.”
