Bespoke training, delivered by experienced tutors, in the best facilities available across the UK heating industry. That’s the unrivalled offer by UK market leader Ideal Heating to the nation’s installers.

The way we heat our homes is changing. From 2025, gas boilers will be banned from new-build homes in England. Ambitious targets have also been set by Government to increase domestic heat pump installations to 600,000 a year by 2028.

To meet that target, a huge training commitment is needed across the industry, ensuring the UK has the skills base to install heat pumps safely and efficiently.

Ideal Heating is at the forefront of meeting this challenge and leading the industry to a greener future.

Ideal Heating’s Expert Academy is training more than 5,000 installers every year, with a growing proportion of that training dedicated to heat pumps.

The centrepiece of the Expert Academy’s UK-wide training operations is the National Training and Technology Centre.

The facility is the first dedicated training centre of its kind in the UK, focused primarily on green technologies.

Ideal Heating Training Director Andrew Johnson said: “For installers who have built a career working with gas boilers, we understand both the time and financial commitment involved in re-training to become a low carbon engineer.

“Our Expert Academy has the experienced team and the industry-leading facilities to support them with that transition.

“Our National Training and Technology Centre represents a new standard for the industry, providing installers with a world-class learning environment.”

Courses delivered include BPEC Heat Pump Systems, City & Guilds F-Gas Category One and BPEC Low Temperature Hot Water Heating Systems.

The Expert Academy offers a range of sponsored and funded courses, meaning training programmes can be completely free of charge or with up to 90% of the course cost covered.

All of Ideal Heating’s courses are delivered in-house by the Expert Academy’s highly-experienced team, with every one of Ideal Heating’s trainers having at least 20 years of heating industry experience.

A core part of the training is focused on Ideal Heating’s flagship Logic Air heat pump.

Specifically designed with boiler installers in mind, Logic Air is helping gas engineers make the vital move into the heat pump market.

With simple, three-step commissioning, Logic Air can be up and running in just a few steps. The heat pump comes with a single communications cable, making it a true “plug and play” product.

For installers who have worked with Ideal Heating’s Logic range of boilers, Logic Air is a natural transition. Installers benefit from Ideal Heating’s dedicated customer support team, with heat pump commissioning advice also available if needed.

As the home heating green revolution gathers pace, Ideal Heating’s low carbon training courses are setting the benchmark for the industry.

By choosing to train with Expert Academy, installers can themselves become experts and contribute to the UK’s net zero transition.
