Aluminium dry fix roofing systems from Kytun showcased at InstallerSHOW

For nearly 40 years, Kytun has been developing a comprehensive range of high-performance roofing and rainwater solutions.

With its products manufactured in Darlington, the company has full oversight of its supply chain and production processes, keeping quality high and – crucially – enabling a flexibility on which Kytun prides itself.

“We guarantee all our products,” says Pauric Hilferty, Kytun’s Key Accounts Manager. “And our agility means we’re able to offer a really personalised, focused service. Our technical hub is designed to provide direct support to customers, merchants, roofers, installers, specifiers… everyone involved with our products.”

Hilferty says that because Kytun is a growing business, it’s able to react quickly to market demand. “If customers want something bespoke, that’s no problem. And we’re able to identify key trends and appetite.”

One application of this trend forecasting is the development of Kytun’s Performance Plus+ range of aluminium dry fix roofing systems. “Slate and a half systems create major problems for the industry, so we designed our aluminium slate trim product as a solution. Not only does it look really good, it’s really, really tough.”

Indeed, Hilferty points to the Kytun guarantee that the system is 10 times stronger – in line with BRE testing – than any other aluminium solution on the market. And, he adds, it’s recyclable, which aligns with the brand’s zero waste commitment.

“Our aluminium systems are made from 100% fully recyclable, polyester-coated aluminium, with 90% of all raw materials coming from recycled content. Our plastic products, meanwhile, are made from 100% recycled polymers.”

He adds that all production-related PPC scrap is either granulated and reused within the factory, or sent to external recycling partners for reuse. In total, the company recycles around 800 tonnes of PPC a year.

“We’re all about innovation,” says Hilferty. “We’ve got a lot of exciting things in the pipeline which I can’t talk about yet, but we’re very happy with the reputation we have for new ideas that are both sustainable and customer-centric.”
