Tradesman goes viral after sharing shocking photo

tanned legs and white feet of construction worker

A construction worker from Ipswich shared a photo of his legs in a Facebook group this week, and it soon racked up over 44k reactions.

Mark Flewitt, a plant operator, shared the picture on the popular Dull Men’s Club group, with the caption: “Having to wear boots on the construction site has its disadvantages. Especially in the summer months.”

The comments quickly came in, with most people pointing out that Mark should wear sun protection to protect himself from skin cancer and also questioning why he was wearing shorts on site.

One commenter said: “You’re doing outside work all wrong, cover that skin!”

Mark told Installer: “I’ve been in the trade for 35 years, my primary role is as a plant operator, but when not busy I muck in with the other trades so I’ve become multi skilled in that time. I can’t believe the reaction my picture has received!”

Although many people found the picture amusing, it does highlight the need for the trades to use sun protection. Both Toolstation and SIG Roofing have launched campaigns recently to raise awareness of the dangers of working outside without adequate protection.
