What’s going on for roofers at InstallerSHOW 2026?

Roofers will have plenty to explore at InstallerSHOW 2026, as the NEC Birmingham event continues to expand its InstallerBUILD section with a stronger focus on roofing, cladding, insulation, solar and retrofit.

Taking place from 23 to 25 June 2026, the show will welcome more than 40,000 visitors and over 900 exhibitors, bringing together the construction trades like no other event does.

For roofers, one of the headline attractions will be The Great British Slate Off, a competition delivered by SIG Roofing and the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC). Designed to celebrate craftsmanship and technical skill, the competition will see some of the UK’s best roofing talent competing in a live final on the show floor.

Hands-on learning is a major theme throughout the event, with a big emphasis on live demonstrations and practical workshops, with roofing sitting alongside kitchen fitting, heritage trades and renewable technologies as key areas of focus. Roofers attending the show will have access to practical installation demos, product showcases and technical discussions.

The HAUS

A major feature drawing interest from roofing contractors is The HAUS, a full-scale two-storey demonstration building that sits at the centre of InstallerBUILD for the second time – and this year the project has been retrofitted to showcase new technologies and solutions. Designed by architects IF_DO and constructed using regenerative materials from Natural Building Systems, roofing, cladding and insulation suppliers are heavily involved in the project, giving visitors a chance to see integrated systems and materials used in a realistic construction environment rather than simply displayed on exhibition stands.

The wider InstallerBUILD zone is also expected to highlight issues currently shaping the roofing sector, including retrofit demand, building safety legislation, energy efficiency and modern methods of construction. InstallerSHOW is designed to encourage collaboration between trades, meaning roofers will be able to connect not only with manufacturers and distributors, but also with builders, electricians, renewables installers and specifiers working on the same projects.

Tools and business building

The TradesTalk theatre features workshops and discussions designed to help tradespeople run their businesses more effectively, with sessions including how to get pricing right and using social media content to attract more customers. There will also be sessions running in the Brand Ambassador Hub with some of social media’s best known tradespeople sharing their top picks of tools and products this year. They’ll be talking about their must-have tools on site, the unsung heroes of their toolbags and also product launches that have impressed them in 2026.

Key brands

Some of the key brands roofers should make a beeline for include Milwaukee Tools, FP McCann, Easy-Trim, Klein Tools, Don & Low, Catnic, SIG Roofing, Fassa Bortolo, Hanson Plywood, Kytun, Restec Roofing, Rubberseal, Saint-Gobain Exterior Solutions, Dart Tool Group, Knipex, Tuff Waterproofing, Ox Tools and Ubbink.

Alongside roofing manufacturers and suppliers, visitors can expect to see companies specialising in insulation systems, building materials, solar integration and sustainable technologies. The INVENT innovation area will help attendees identify exhibitors focusing on next-generation construction products and smart building solutions, while the Solar Pavilion will provide insight into the growing overlap between roofing and renewable energy installation.

InstallerSHOW 2026 is also expanding through co-location with the Professional Woodworking Expo and the Painting & Decorating Show, creating a broader multi-trade environment than previous years. For roofing contractors, this means more opportunities to network across the supply chain and discover products and techniques relevant to complete building projects, particularly in the demo zones within Professional Woodworking Expo.

With live competitions, technical demonstrations, sustainability showcases and major industry exhibitors all under one roof, InstallerSHOW 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most significant events in the calendar for roofing professionals looking to stay up to date with new products, regulations and installation techniques.
