NAPIT has been formally accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to deliver the redeveloped Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) Installer Scheme. This significant milestone reinforces NAPIT’s dedication to high quality certification, strong consumer protection and robust standards across the UK’s small scale renewable energy sector, the organisation says.
UKAS accreditation marks a key step in NAPIT’s longstanding collaboration with the MCS and helps provide greater clarity and confidence for installers as the redeveloped scheme is introduced. NAPIT and the MCS are now working together on a detailed transition plan for existing MCS certified members, with activities planned to begin soon.
In the meantime, current MCS members should continue to comply with all existing scheme requirements, including maintaining an approved consumer code, until further guidance is issued. Additional information on the transition timeline and implementation will be shared in the next few months.
