Following the publication of BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and British Standards Institution (BSI), NICEIC has announced the availability of a comprehensive package of support and resources to help electrical contractors confidently work to the new requirements.
These include a 48-page digital workbook available through the NICEIC customer portal, designed to explain the changes in detail. In addition, a series of CPD-accredited webinars titled The Wire will explore the updates further, which are accessible both live and on demand.
Further support will be provided through two in-person technical events scheduled for 2026, taking place in Surrey in June and Sheffield in September. NICEIC has also expanded its technical resources with updated guides, enhanced content in Connections magazine and continued access to its technical helpline.
To align with the new amendment, NICEIC has updated its certification forms and reports, which are available through its online certification system and shop. Amendment 4 can be implemented immediately, with the previous version, BS 7671:2018+A2:2022+A3:2024, scheduled for withdrawal on 15 October 2026.
