Free regional employer engagement seminars

Free regional employer engagement seminars

This is your chance to gain first-hand access to information on updates to Part L of the Building Regulations and to have your say on how training is delivered within the plumbing and heating industry.
Following on from the success of last year’s Green Deal Seminars, APHC are now working in partnership with City & Guilds to deliver a series of free nationwide Employer Engagement seminars at a variety of Boiler manufacturer training centres across the UK.
The seminars will run in spring and autumn and will aim to update plumbing employers on important industry matters around legislative or technical matters along with other vital information important to plumbing businesses. City & Guilds, the leading Awarding Organisation for the Plumbing and Heating industry, will then take the opportunity to seek feedback directly from plumbing businesses about education and training matters that directly affect the workforce and the operation of the business. This is a prime opportunity to discuss a range of topics that will put Plumbing Employers firmly in the driving seat of education and training development.
Spring 2014 seminar dates:
• 18 March St Albans Vokèra boilers training centre
• 20 March Worcester Bosch head office and training centre
• 25 March Baxi Newport training centre
• 28 March Worcester Bosch training centre Wakefield
The March seminar topic will cover the new changes to Building Regulation Part L, Conservation of Fuel and Power, coming into force on 1 April and will inform delegates on the changes to Approved Document L and also its support document, Domestic Heating Compliance Guide. To ensure compliance with the Regulations, it is important that plumbing and heating businesses are aware of these changes so they can prepare for its introduction on 1 April 2014.
City & Guilds will open up discussion on a range of education and training matters that affect the plumbing and heating industry. The session will commence with an overview of why City & Guilds feels it is important to put employers at the forefront of qualification development and explain its vision for engagement in the future. This face to face contact with employers aims to ensure that the needs of the business are being met and that businesses continue to operate profitably.
Leading the seminars will be APHC Technical Manager Graeme Dryden and members of the plumbing qualification team at City & Guilds.
