With spring and summer just around the corner, one of the UK’s designers and distributors of renewable energy systems is calling for installers to urge customers to make the switch to green energy in time to take advantage of warmer weather.
Stephen Knight, Commercial Director for Navitron, believes that April and May are the best months to install solar technology.
Stephen commented: “With the number of daylight hours increasing from eight in December and January to sixteen during the summer months, solar PV panels can generate nearly 10x the amount electricity during May June and July than they can in the winter.
“The increased solar irradiation during these months allows solar thermal panels to provide a large portion of a home’s hot water in the summer, saving some users up to 30% on their energy bills.
“Also, if customers want to take full advantage of government incentives like the Feed-In Tariff (FIT) and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), summer’s the time to do so.
“With the FIT allowing consumers to generate income from solar energy produced from PV panels, the opportunity to save even more money by adopting renewable technology increases substantially mid-year. Plus, with the Domestic RHI set to come into effect, homeowners will soon be able to reap the benefits of incentives while significantly lowering hot water bills and reducing carbon emissions.”
Offering solar PV panels from the industry’s leading manufacturers to its own range of solar thermal panels utilizing highly efficient evacuated tube technology, Navitron offers an array of green energy solutions to meet the needs of any end-user.
Stephen continued: “Selling the benefits of solar for the summer is an ideal strategy for installers as the unique selling points of renewables are heightened at mid-year, making the idea of going green an even more appealing prospect to homeowners wanting to save money on utility bills and become more sustainable.”
