Daikin UK has supplied air source heat pump technology to the newly opened Advanced Green Technology Centre at Stoke-on-Trent College’s Burslem Campus, in the 46th installation of Daikin equipment delivered through its ongoing partnership with renewable training specialist Quantum Group.
The latest project in the Daikin/Quantum partnership underlines both organisations’ shared commitment to closing the UK’s green skills gap and building the workforce needed to deliver Net Zero.
The £2.3 million centre, which opened in May 2026 with the support of government funding channelled through Stoke-on-Trent City Council, features industry-standard facilities including heat pump technology, solar PV systems, electric vehicle charging training bays, and wall insulation training. It is designed to equip learners in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire with the technical skills needed to build and maintain the low-carbon built environment.
The Stoke-on-Trent College installation is the latest example of the Daikin/Quantum partnership in action. Since the two organisations began working together, Quantum has installed Daikin heat pump equipment in 46 further education colleges across the UK, creating practical, hands-on training environments in which the next generation of renewable engineers can develop the skills the industry urgently needs.

The partnership combines Quantum’s expertise in renewables training with Daikin’s excellence in heat pump manufacturing and its nationwide coverage. Each Quantum Renewable Training Facility features a fully operational heat pump system with modular learning booths covering live working, installation, maintenance and fault finding, giving students a real-world training experience from day one.
With 29 million existing homes estimated to need upgrading to low-carbon heating systems by 2050, the demand for qualified heat pump installers has never been greater. Quantum and Daikin are working together to ensure further education colleges across the UK have the equipment, training, and support to produce the engineers who will deliver that transition.
