Navien has launched its Smart Service Toolkit. Compatible with the company’s high efficiency NCB700 ON, NCB500 ON and NCB300 gas boilers and LCB700 Blue Flame oil boilers, the Smart Service Toolkit makes it simpler for installers to conduct servicing and maintenance.
The device accurately monitors and diagnoses customers’ boilers based on live data. Navien’s technical engineers can view this data offsite and advise installers onsite how to deal with any issues according to a boiler’s status.
The Smart Service Toolkit can also be used to check product information, error logs and service history – as well as customise settings according to a user’s needs and the property type. Operation is straightforward, as the device is connected to the boiler via a supplied cable, while also linking to a dedicated smartphone app via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Both data and firmware are transferred via the app, which is constantly communicating with Navien’s servers to provide the latest updates.
Installers can use the Smart Service Toolkit app to view a technical graph, enabling a visual assessment of a boiler’s status. The unit also allows each sensor to be checked and monitored with ease. In addition, settings can be customised according to each user’s needs and property type, including adjusting a boiler’s parameters, as well as downloading and updating to the latest firmware for each end user on an individual basis.

The Smart Service Toolkit is fully compatible with the NCB700 ON combi gas boiler – the first product of its type capable of delivering hot water for up to three bathrooms simultaneously. Shattering all preconceptions of a combi boiler’s suitability for large properties, the NCB700 ON cleverly maximises recirculation of domestic hot water (DHW) to significantly reduce water wastage and offer flow rates up to an industry-leading 22 litres per minute (at 35°C temperature rise). It dramatically reduces gas usage, saving 38% on average per year, while also boasts an outstanding turndown ratio of 15:1. Available in two models capable of delivering up to 42kW and 54kW of hot water respectively, the boiler is hydrogen-ready (20% blend) and can achieve ErP A+ when used with Navien’s Smart Plus controller.
In addition, the NCB500 ON boiler can fit comfortably inside a cupboard with ease due to its compact 280mm depth, while still benefitting the same high-quality construction as the NCB700 ON. It can achieve hot water outputs of up to 41kW and also boasts an industry-leading seasonal space heating energy efficiency of 93%. Plus, thanks to Navien’s state-of-the-art flow adjustment valve and auto mixing valve, the NCB500 ON is able to provide lots of hot water, with no changes in DHW temperature or flow rate.
Finally, the NCB300 is a pared down version of its larger cousins, but still achieves exceptional levels of hot water performance, due to its high-quality construction and high-tech components. There are three sizes of NCB300 available, offering DHW outputs of 28kW, 37kW and 41kW respectively.
