When a customer uses an appliance on a daily basis, they expect the flame to be the right size, shape and colour each time. In other words, they expect the gas to be ‘fit for purpose’ all the time. Peter Fleming looks at the process involved to achieve this.
First and foremost, it is essential that the combustion characteristics of the gas (largely determined by its chemical composition) are within limits and that the pressure at the point of delivery does not vary.
