Honeywell launches new voice activated heating controls

Honeywell can now offer installers the choice of three connected heating control solutions, with the launch of two new products – the Voice and the Single Zone thermostats.
Honeywell connected webA first for the market, the Voice programmable room thermostat employs the latest voice activated technology to make changing the room temperature even easier.
Users can instruct the Voice thermostat to “make it warmer”, “make it cooler”, change the set range points or override set schedules, simply by talking to the device.
An advanced control algorithm means that the Voice listens and learns, helping to maintain comfort levels and minimise boiler run time.
The Voice touchscreen is bright and easy to read, and can be colour customised to match the décor or mood of the room. The home screen displays the outdoor temperature and weather information, helping householders to plan their day, while advanced locking features and password options ensure programmes are protected. With built-in WiFi, there is no need for an additional gateway.
Designed with the entry level connected thermostat market in mind, the Single Zone is a wireless digital room thermostat that is perfect for upgrades of any system and any boiler.
The Single Zone can either be used as a wireless room thermostat as part of a time and temperature system; as a room thermostat that can be remotely controlled via the app; or as a six-period programmable thermostat, also accessed via the app. A programmed range stop function means the room will not go above or below set point temperatures.
As a multi-zone controller, Honeywell’s evohome offers similar flexibility. It not only controls up to 12 zones and hot water, but can also be used as a programmable thermostat controlling the whole house. Touch screen programming and easy scheduling through an inbuilt wizard make the evohome a sophisticated option, ideal for larger properties. Once installed, the evohome can be easily upgraded to a fully controlled smart zone heating system.
In a recent survey, Honeywell found that nearly half of homeowners (47%) said they would be interested in having a fully connected smart home, where they could control everything from a tablet or phone. 71% cited lowering their energy bills as the reason for this and a third said it was down to convenience, flexibility and controlling their home to suit their lifestyle.

The Single Zone and Voice controlled thermostats join Honeywell’s evohome touchscreen, internet-enabled heating control to extend its connected offering further.
The manufacturer is the first to offer a full range of connected thermostats and heating controls for any home application, which are available to buy from all good plumbing and heating, electrical and builders merchants UK-wide, offering greater choice to both installers and their customers.
All three thermostats can be controlled by Honeywell’s Total Connect Comfort App, enabling homeowners to manage their heating whether they across the room or half way across the world.
