Recognising both rising fuel costs and the need to cut carbon emissions in line with the UK’s future carbon targets, the Government set out to create a new initiative that wouldencourage efficiency. Consistently, the biggest hurdle for pro-active homeowners looking to improve their properties has been cost. While the idea of making alterations that will lead to warmer homes and savings on fuel bills is undoubtedly appealing, the capital outlay required upfront is not. The Green Deal, however, has been designed to specifically counter the traditional challenge of lack of funds amongst consumers.
