Ideal Boilers endorses use of hotun products with condensing boilers

Ideal Boilers has endorsed the use of the hotun hiflo tundish as a way to combine the PRV discharge and condensate drain pipes on condensing boilers.
In a recent Product Bulletin, Ideal explained that since the last update to BS6798, it has been possible to combine the condensate and PRV connections – and the hotun products provide the solution.

The award-winning hotun and hotun hiflo are patented, dry trap tundishes, that allow a safe and visible means of discharge from a sealed system boiler or unvented water heater’s Temperature/Pressure Relief Valve, to be compliantly connected to an internal waste or soil pipe, without allowing foul odours back into the building.
Andrew Dabin, Domestic Product Manager at Ideal Boilers explained: “The hotun hiflo is acceptable for use with Ideal condensing boilers, it offers a useful solution to the issue of combining a sealed system boiler pressure relief discharge and condensate pipe into a single termination point to a buildings waste water system. Please note that the waste pipes need to be of a standard to accept the potential pressures and or temperatures involved with a sealed system under discharge scenarios.”
Speaking on the latest update, hotun inventor Russell Armstrong said: “I’m delighted that another leading manufacturer has given its endorsement to the hotun range.
“It’s another big step in our journey, and shows the fantastic support that the industry has given to the products.”
The hotun tundishes are available online, and in merchant branches around the UK, and have already received endorsements and accreditation from: Worcester Bosch Group, Navian, Ariston, Fabdec, Vaillant and WRAS.
