As Installers know regular servicing is vital to ensure that a boiler is running safely and efficiently but for customers it’s not always at the top of their priority list, especially in the summer. However, the summer months are a great time to encourage your customers to have their boiler serviced. Homeowners, landlords and tenants tend to not pay much attention to their heating systems during the warmer months of the year, which can lead to problems that are only realised in the winter when heating is required and installers are at their busiest. For this reason, summer is the perfect time to service a boiler, carry out any maintenance required or upgrade to newer, more-efficient model. During the warmer months, condensation tubes can easily become a nesting place for insects. Come the winter if a boiler hasn’t been serviced homeowners can be faced with large blockages that can interfere with the smooth running of the appliance or break it completely, taking a simple tube cleaning job to a much larger and time consuming re-installation. Another reason to encourage customers to get their boilers serviced in the summer is that it tends to be less busy and therefore installers can respond quickly and efficiently. When the cold weather strikes, it affects everybody at the same time. All across the country, boilers will fire up to ward off the dreaded cold and it is at this point that homeowners will discover any faults with their heating system. At Vokèra, we would recommend that homeowners have their boilers serviced before the colder months hit. With summer in full swing, now is the time for installers to speak to their customers and prepare for winter.
