Installers to 'feel the benefit' of new scheme

Tradesmen across the UK are set to take advantage of a new Government-backed scheme aimed at helping to secure affordable heating to energy poor homes.
The initiative named, ‘Feel the benefit’ will see free iQE energy efficient boilers, available exclusively from local building suppliers TradePoint, installed by tradesmen in the run up to the cold snap – with tradesmen receiving £700 for the job.
With over 2.5 million households certified as energy poor in the UK and Northern Ireland, tradesmen can take advantage of this scheme if their customers tick one of the following criteria:
• They live in a privately owned or rented property
• Their boiler is broken or not working properly
• They have electric or solid fuel heating and a working mains gas supply and they are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits; state pension credit, income related benefits, with a child and an income of less than £15,860, disability benefits with an income of less than £15,860.
With Gas Safe week approaching, tradesmen can take advantage of this scheme by signing up to awareness sessions which are being facilitated at a number of TradePoint counters this month across the UK. The schemes will tell the trade everything about how they can benefit and get involved. All tradesmen must be Gas Safe Registered, VAT Registered and be either PAS2030 or Green Deal Installer certified to take part.
Best of all, tradesmen fitting the iQE boilers can have peace of mind as they all come with a standard 10 year parts and labour warranty. Both easy to install, reliable and highly efficient, the Combination and System boilers are available exclusively to the trade. Tradesmen can also take advantage of the nationwide warranty service helpline.
Trevor Culpin, Marketing Manager at TradePoint commented; “We’re here to help tradesmen warm up Britain this winter. The ‘Feel the benefit’ scheme benefits both customers and our tradesmen and we’re looking forward to hosting our sessions to inform our members as to how they can benefit from the initiative.”
Tradesmen interested in learning more about the scheme are encouraged to contact their local TradePoint counter or visit
