The Green Deal allows people to borrow money from the government to invest in green home improvements, such as solar panels or double glazing, then pay off the debt through energy bill savings. As an approved Green Deal Installer, BSW is offering the following energy saving solutions to qualifying customers at no upfront cost: •Condensing boilers: In which fuel efficiency is measured (typically greater than 90%) by using the waste heat in the flue gases to pre-heat the cool return water entering the boiler. •Heating controls: Includes thermostats and timers that keep homes at a comfortable temperature economically without wasting fuel or heat. •Under floor heating systems: These warm the air just above the floor, which rises through the living space cooling as it rises. This is more efficient than a traditional radiator based heating system. • Electric storage heaters: These use cheap off-peak electricity at night to heat clay thermal bricks, which store the heat and release it during the day. Under the Green Deal, BSW also offers a range of renewable energy solutions such as solar collectors and air source heat pumps, which extract heat out of the air. Troy Belliere, Operations Director at BSW, said: “The Green Deal is a positive scheme that will help some people to make their homes energy efficient and reduce running costs. However, it may not suitable for everyone. The scheme works by homeowners having systems installed free of any capital cost then paying government back through savings made on their energy bills. For those who already use their heating systems efficiently it could take a long time to repay this cost. “And since Green Deal loans stay with the property not the homeowner, this may complicate things if the homeowners decides to sell. Some of our customers may find that it is better to save and pay for green home improvements up front but please give our friendly service team a call for more impartial advice.” Established by John Belliere Snr in 1962, father to current chairman John Belliere, BSW has grown to a team of over 100 and has expertise across all types of central heating including service and maintenance and renewable energy solutions. The company continues to be run on a family level and encourages dedicated employees to recruit their family members into the business. BSW offers innovative bespoke solutions across all property types, including listed buildings that warrant particular care and expertise. Recent clients include The National Trust, English Heritage, Brighton General Hospital and the University of Brighton.
