19 cast iron Ionic radiators from MHS Radiators have been installed at Bentley Priory in Stanmore, Middlesex. The products were fitted as part of a conversion of the historic 18th century mansion house and its adjoining buildings, into a variety of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, duplexes and villas.
The refurbishment was completed in January 2014, with South Eastern heritage developer City & Country responsible for managing the project, which also included reinstating and restoring the property’s Grade II Registered Italian Gardens and its 19th century parterre.
David Brown, Technical Co-ordinator, City & Country, explained why the radiators were specified: “When refurbishing the Orangery at Bentley Priory, the designers decided to reuse the existing cast iron radiators where possible. In order to match this style of radiator throughout the rest of the project, products with a similar look and style were required – and the Ionic range from MHS Radiators fitted the bill perfectly.”
He continued: “Having built up a good relationship with MHS Radiators, the company’s support was outstanding throughout the duration of the refurbishment – and a great help in assisting with issues such as matching the correct sizes and dealing with any discrepancies caused by the existing pipework. MHS were on hand to supply additional radiator sections, as well as have them sprayed and delivered to site.
“They also helped to extend the length of the radiators to match that of the ‘as laid’ pipework where required. In fact, MHS even attended the site to advise and assist our plumbers in attaching the sections, which was fantastic.”
Ideal for modern or traditional settings alike, the versatile Ionic cast iron column radiator from MHS combines authentic traditional styling with modern reliability and comfortable heating. The classic simplicity of its design captures all the elegance of a bygone age, yet affords the benefit for continuing a single radiator style theme throughout a property. Sturdy floor standing models with integral feet or wall mounted versions for ease of siting are available. All radiators are supplied as standard in a primer that requires painting or, alternatively, can be fully factory painted by MHS to many RAL colour finishes (additional costs apply) to blend with almost any colour scheme.
Ionic is part of MHS Radiators’ popular and extensive collection of designer, multi-column and traditional radiators and towel rails. For more information about MHS Radiators, please telephone 01268 546700 or visit www.mhsradiators.com
