New domestic heating & hot water training course

APHC Ltd.

APHC Ltd. has launched a new domestic heating and hot water design course after receiving increased demand from members and installers.
The new course, set to start in April 2013, is aimed at experienced installers who wish to update their skills and knowledge in designing wet central heating systems. The course covers legislation and British Standards as well as the principles of heat loss. It will allow the installer to accurately design efficient and cost effective heating systems.
Graeme Dryden, APHC Ltd. Technical Manager said
“Many installers rely on rule of thumb calculations, heat loss software or radiator sizing calculators which can often lead to them installing oversized equipment including boilers and heat emitters. With businesses facing increasing demands to install energy efficient products and with tighter margins, now more than ever it is important for installers to correctly size products and price their work accordingly.
This new course aims to give all installers the confidence and the knowledge to be able to calculate the heating and hot water demands in a domestic property accurately. It also enabes them to better select appropriate system types, accurately select equipment, provide a more cost effective and efficient installation for their customers and accurately price their work.”
The two day training course will be held at the APHC offices in Solihull and will cost £250 per person for APHC members (£300 for non-members). For more details or to book a place please contact the training department on 0121 711 5030 or email: training@aphc.co.uk. Don’t forget to also ask us about the £100 training grant towards the cost.
