New Green Deal courses for 2013

The National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies has kicked off this year by broadening its sector footprint to deliver new qualifications in insulation, building treatments, fenestration surveying and Green Deal advisory roles.
Offering various levels of recognised accredited qualifications, the National Skills Academy now encompasses the built environment sector, supporting candidates wishing to meet the standards laid out by the Government’s Green Deal initiative and other schemes.
Cathryn Hickey, executive director, for the National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies, explained:
“The Academy now boasts a wide portfolio of qualifications in line with our evolving industry. The courses, of varying levels will ensure that those choosing to expand their provision to a new sector, or opting to top-up, or be assessed on their existing skills, will have the necessary knowledge and technical ability to support the new and exciting ‘green’ marketplace.”
Training through the National Skills Academy entitles candidates to join its new Trained Installer Register, an online database for end-users, Green Deal Providers and Local Authorities to find qualified trades people in their area.
