The Liverpool-headquartered firm, which operates in sectors including commercial, residential, education, retail, health care and leisure, is committed to developing a new generation of talented young electricians, plumbers and engineers. The plumbing and electrician apprentices – Ciaran Hannon, Luke O’Keeffe, Jake Peacock and Cian Kavanagh – will train on HE Simm sites across Merseyside and have all been recruited from the local area. They are joined by office-based technical apprentices Neil Dykes and Christian Holtham. HE Simm has also recruited a raft of new MEPH (Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health) estimators, project managers, engineers and supervisors. Managing Director Gareth Simm said the company is enjoying sustained year-on-year growth which has led to new opportunities across the business. “We are delighted to be creating 16 new jobs including the six Apprenticeships. We will be working closely with Ciaran, Luke, Jake,Cian, Neil and Christian to nurture their skills, develop long-term goals and give them a strong platform to succeed within the business. We already have two apprentices working at HE Simm – Ian Ewan and Cameron Marshall – and truly understand the benefits apprentices can bring. “Our business model has always been about selecting the right clients, the right schemes to price and the right supply chain to support us, whilst investing in skills and training so we have the right people to manage and lead our projects and business. “It is essential to have a robust business plan that identifies and delivers short and medium-term success and also keeps a strong focus on the long-term future of the company. Aside from the apprentices, we are investing in a group of experienced and knowledgeable industry experts.” HE Simm is set to launch an innovative Building Information Modelling (BIM) design studio this month as part of a drive to improve collaboration, raise performance and reduce project man hours. The £60,000 studio will bring together engineers, architects and designers from HE Simm and stakeholders in one shared facility, and will be kitted out with the latest BIM technology, including the market-leading Revit software. HE Simm has also been shortlisted for the Construction News Awards 2013 in the Supply Chain Excellence category. The winner will be announced in London on July 11. Gareth Simm added: “Our overall business plan for the next five years has been set and we are targeting continued expansion, sustainability and excellent KPI scores, while maintaining the delivery of first-class projects. We have recruited strategically to further strengthen our market position.” For more information visit www.hesimm.co.uk Share ! tweet
