Undoubtedly, a lot has changed in the heating and plumbing industry since Issue 1 of The Gas Installer first appeared back in February 1992.
In the intervening twenty-one years, there have been a number of Government initiatives, industry schemes and trade association-led movements launched to try and solve the common problems of our industry – all of which have met with various degrees of success.
Similarly, the focus on technologies and products has shifted every few years as the industry searches for the ‘Holy Grail’ of heating. But whether it’s condensing boilers or renewable technologies, there has always been the recognition that – in order to make consumers’ lives easier – heating homes must become more efficient and, therefore, cheaper.
Regardless of regulation changes, technological advancements or current trends, the role of Installer has always been to keep our readership informed and up-to-date with how the market is evolving. The magazine allows manufacturers and suppliers in our industry to not only promote their products and services but also to provide expert opinion and insight on the important issues that are shaping the future. All of that helps installers to develop their businesses in order to better meet the needs of their customers.
Having reached such a notable milestone in the history of the magazine, it is imperative that Installer continues to adapt to the changing demands of both manufacturers and installers alike to ensure that it continues to provide an essential resource for everyone involved in our industry.
