Ebac has entered the heat pump market with a range of products designed and manufactured in the UK.
The company has utilised this expertise and experience to develop a range of heat pumps. They are initially offering a range of 5kw and 9kw models in both a standard and space-saving compact version. All models have achieved MCS accreditation, which is necessary for customers who wish to claim the current and future Governments grants for heat pumps.
Ebac heat pumps contain some advanced technology features, including:
• ‘A’ rated inverter driven pump to reduce power consumption and provide maximum efficiency at all temperatures.
• Built-in Wi-Fi and computer software fitted as standard, enabling the installer to commission and adjust the performance of the heat pump remotely via a website.
• Installers will also be able to monitor the performance of the pump including the COP and comparative energy saving figures.
Other features include a programmable quiet mode for night time running, and a range of colour options to help the heat pumps blend in better with their surroundings.

They make so much sense as a renewable energy source, with efficiencies of more than 400%, even in the UK climate. However, it is vital that the heat pump is designed for optimum performance in the British climate, as well as being solid, reliable and built to last.
“Our core expertise is modern refrigeration technology and we have been developing our heat pump range over the last two years. Ebac heat pumps have been designed specifically for the UK climate. Most other heat pump manufacturers are from the Far East and, because their products are sold in warmer and more humid climates, their designs are not optimised to give the best performance here where we have lower temperatures and humidity.
“Our heat pumps are also fitted with hydrophilic coated coils as standard which enable a more efficient defrost cycle as they prevent a large build up of ice.”
Ebac heat pumps also have “intelligent defrost” which was developed for the company’s dehumidifiers. Intelligent defrost predicts when the hydrophilic coils are about to freeze and suspends the refrigeration process to allow the coils to defrost. This produces a much more energy efficient defrost cycle for a higher performance and energy efficient heat pump.
