The new Fernox MaxMag is a handheld rotating magnet designed to prepare radiators for cleaning, by mobilising settled sludge and magnetite.
Developed by the Fernox Research and Development team, the product was designed after FernoxArea Sales Barry Maxted identified a clear customer demand.
The new Fernox MaxMag is formed of a handheld ‘rolling-pin’ like device, which utilises a powerful magnet to agitate sludge and magnetite in radiators. Ideal for use during cleaning or powerflushing a system, the Fernox MaxMag is easy to use – simply start at the bottom of the radiator and move in an upward direction to pull any magnetic iron oxide sludge away from the bottom edge of the panel to enable easy flushing.
Fernox Area Sales Manager Barry Maxted identified a gap in the market for a product that could lift compacted debris high enough for cleaning chemicals to get to the affected areas.
Barry commented: “It was a bit of a ‘light bulb’ moment – from talking to customers about problems they face on- site and from that realisation Fernox was able develop into a viable solution. By using the MaxMag, installers can remove even more debris from the radiators – with the ultimate result of a more efficient heating system.”
The Fernox MaxMag can be adjusted for right and left handed use, by rotating the roller 180 degrees. In addition, the Fernox MaxMag will not damage the radiator paint surface or expose leaks.
