According to Construction Products Association forecasts , the construction industry is due to improve its current output by 4.5 per cent by 2015. As a result, NAPIT believes this is the perfect time for installers to consider expansion and utilise new skills to take advantage of this trend.
These forecasts come after Reed Job Index statistics have been released showing that the construction sector leads the job growth market and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) have made £17 million available for new building projects . This shows a step in the right direction for the construction industry. According to the latest NSCC State of Trade Survey , these positive trends are also having an effect on the contracting sector, with 41 per cent of specialist contractors planning business expansion over the next year.
NAPIT CEO, Mike Andrews, said: “The positivity shown through these latest statistics is incredibly encouraging for the industry. Now is the ideal time for installers to look at attracting more business and possibly expand the range of services they offer.”
For trade installers looking into business expansion, NAPIT offers training and membership across five different markets; electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and renewables, including the Green Deal.
