Pipe Center, a UK building services supplier, has launched the new high efficiency Greenspring CWi47 instantaneous water heater from the Worcester, Bosch Group.
The innovative design, based on condensing technology, allows specific hot water outlet temperatures to be selected (with adjustment in 1deg C increments), and delivers a net efficiency of 104 per cent.
The ability of the Greenspring CWi47 to deliver an immediate and continuous flow of hot water overcomes the need for hot water storage tanks in many applications, thereby reducing installation costs, saving space onsite, and minimising heat losses, running costs and carbon emissions.
The heater is suitable for both Natural Gas and LPG applications and, as a result of the advanced design and use of pre-mix combustion technology, produces very low NOx emissions – less than 40ppm (Class 5).
With an output of 50kW, the water heater can be integrated into systems designed with multiple sinks, showers or baths. Where there is a requirement for larger volumes of hot water, up to 12 Greenspring CWi47 units can be operated in a cascade system, delivering combined flow rates of up to 250lts/min.
With these continuous high flow rates, the water heater has been specifically designed for use in commercial applications such as restaurants, offices, schools, nurseries and hairdressers.
It also provides an ideal solution for shower facilities in leisure centres and caravan parks, and where there is a requirement for large volumes of hot water, such as catering kitchens, factories, hotels, hospitals and laundries.
The Greenspring CWi47 has a durable heat exchanger allowing it to withstand the frequent low-fire rates of a secondary circulation system. To reduce water wastage, the secondary circulation system circulates hot water through the pipe work of the building to ensure hot water is immediately available when a tap is opened.
This condensing water heater can also be used as part of an integrated building system, with water pre-heated using renewable technologies such as solar panels and heat pumps, to deliver an efficient and low carbon solution for DHW generation.
The compact design incorporates frost protection, and features front-mounted digital controls, with service diagnostics and error codes clearly displayed on the LCD screen.
The wall-mounted room-sealed appliance is designed to be easy to install, with the option of a horizontal or vertical flue termination. The flue length may also be extended up to 8m, providing flexibility for installation positions within a building.
