Tradeswomen Together, the fortnightly podcast from Fix Radio, has been shortlisted for Best New Presenter (sponsored by Spotify) at the Audio and Radio Industry Awards, recognising standout new voices in UK audio.
Hosted by Hattie Hasan MBE and Steph Leese, the podcast has secured a nomination in under 12 months since launching in June 2025. The awards ceremony will take place on 21 May at Roundhouse.
The ARIAS shortlist spans 21 categories and includes entries from major broadcasters such as BBC and Bauer Media, highlighting excellence across radio and podcasting.
Launched in June 2025, Tradeswomen Together has quickly established itself as a valuable platform within the construction and trades sector, providing insight, and practical discussion for women working across the industry. Featuring guests from apprentices through to experienced tradeswomen and industry specialists, the podcast tackles key topics including T Levels, pregnancy, mental health, on-site experiences, – the horrors and the triumphs, business growth, and health and safety issues such as asbestos.

Hasan, a plumber since 1990 and founder of Stopcocks Women Plumbers and the WIT Event for all tradeswomen was awarded an MBE in 2020 for her work increasing the visibility and numbers of women in plumbing and heating. She co-hosts the podcast with Steph Leese, a plasterer since 2009, whose business is The Pink Plasterer. Together they advocate for greater inclusion, representation, and equity across the trades.
As the Audio and Radio Industry Awards celebrates its tenth year, the recognition of Tradeswomen Together signals a shift—towards broader, more inclusive storytelling in UK audio.
The ARIAS shortlist places Hasan and Leese alongside major names and productions, including The Louis Theroux Podcast and British Scandal, as well as high-profile presenters such as Romesh Ranganathan, French and Saunders and Mel Giedroyc—marking a significant breakthrough for voices from outside traditional media.
