Vaillant has unveiled a new smartphone app, developed specifically for one off installers working with the company’s range of ecoTEC boilers and other technologies.

The Vaillant masterTEC app – which recently launched – is designed to benefit installers by providing instant and easy access to a range of tools, documents and registration forms.
In the first instance, the masterTEC app is available – free of charge – for Apple iPhone users. Versions for the iPad and Android devices will follow. The app is available to all installers, but Vaillant Advance members will benefit from additional functionality, including the ability to register an install for its guarantee and Advance loyalty points by simply scanning the boiler’s barcode.
Mark Derbyshire, Vaillant Commercial Director comments: “This new app is effectively a technical, administration and sales tool that puts Vaillant’s vast resources into the installer’s pocket. I think it will quickly become an essential part of the installers’ toolkit”.
“Smartphones have fast become commonplace amongst installers and, as we have seen elsewhere in other markets, this proliferation brings with it an opportunity to improve the way we do things. So, in developing the Vaillant app, we have aimed to create far more than a passive information store.
In addition to digital versions of our full suite of sales and technical literature, the app features a savings calculator for installers to use when guiding customers through the purchase decision, and – for Advance installers – the ability to automate much of the registration process. It therefore stands to not simply be a useful tool, but a time-saving one too.”
The masterTEC app is built around three core functions:
• Registrations: available only to Advance installers installers at this time, this allows the user to scan the barcode of the boiler they have installed to immediately register it for its guarantee and for their Advance points. Connectivity at the point of registration is not necessary as data is automatically uploaded as soon as the phone has a 3G/4G signal or a wifi connection.
• Knowledge base: a hub of technical information and documents, including product information, technical tables, and optimised user, installation and spare parts manuals that allow the user to navigate directly to the section needed, and the option to contact a local spare parts stockist who stocks that part, directly from the page. Users can also tag content as favourites for quick access.
• Savings calculator: a sales tool for all Vaillant installers to use when discussing potential savings when upgrading to a new Vaillant boiler. The calculator allows the installer to demonstrate both fuel and carbon savings according to the house type, size, age and the heating source being replaced.
Additional functions include the ability for Advance installers to keep track of, and use their points, full contact details for key Vaillant departments, and an area where installers can sign up to the Advance programme.
Mark continues: “As with everything, we are looking to develop and evolve this tool over time and installer feedback will be a valuable part of the process. We are already in discussions with third parties, to incorporate additional functionality. Smartphones and tablets are changing the way we work, interact and consume and we’re committed to helping installers get best value from their devices.”
