Plumber Joseph Valente has won the popular BBC reality show The Apprentice, bagging a £250,000 investment in his business from Lord Alan Sugar.
Lord Sugar was impressed with Valente’s plans to transform his plumbing and gas company Impra-Gas into a national franchise. The pair now have a 50/50 partnership in the venture.
25-year-old Joseph took up plumbing after being expelled from school, and set up his own business when he was 18.
After winning the final he said: “I’m ready to work so, so hard… I’ve come such a long way. I can finally say that I’m proud of myself and that I’ve achieved something in life.”
Lord Sugar, who preferred Joseph’s business model to Vana Koutsomitis’s dating app, commented: “Joseph is a great example of what’s possible. He turned his life around and decided he was going to go to work and here he is today, a well-deserved winner of The Apprentice and I look forward to him being my business partner. With my money, my help, I think he can go far.”
