Change is coming to the UK domestic heating industry but what does this mean for you?
In this three-part series, Iain Bevan, Commercial Manager – Heating & Renewables at Daikin UK, will explore the growing demand for renewables and how Daikin’s Sustainable Home Network can help you seize a business opportunity that could help protect your future income.
Carbon neutral by 2050
June 2019 was a landmark month for the UK domestic heating industry. The Government announced its objective for the country to become carbon-neutral by 2050. As such, the way in which we all heat our homes is set to change.
People are starting to look towards alternative renewable heating systems and with the planned phasing out of fossil-fuel powered boilers in new-build homes from as soon as 2025, the heat pump market is set to grow at an unprecedented rate.
So, as a traditional heating installer, where does this leave you? In order to ensure that you are not left behind by this changing tide and to future-proof your business, it is important that you look to upskill and extend your product offering to include renewable energy systems.
The Sustainable Home Network
Daikin, the leader in renewable heating and cooling systems, has launched a new and exciting programme – the Sustainable Home Network, to help traditional installers prepare their business for a renewable future. Through the provision of an extensive, high-quality training programme and continuous business support, the Sustainable Home Network is a tiered support programme that will help you gain the skills, knowledge and tools needed to approach this new heat pump market with confidence.
Installers will first enter the programme as a Sustainable Home Installer, where they will have access to comprehensive product and installation training on Daikin’s monobloc heat pump. A closed system with no refrigerant, a monobloc does not require F-Gas to handle, making it the perfect starting point for those entering into the heat pump sector. As well as training, Sustainable Home Installers will also receive localised support (including on-site installation checks), advice on commissioning and heat pump diagnostics and access to qualified consumer leads.
However, the Sustainable Home Network goes beyond simply arming installers with the skills needed to survive the industry shift. Crucially, it also helps installers to grow and progress their business, in line with the rising consumer demand.
In next month’s e-Newsletter we take you through the second tier of Daikin’s Sustainable Home Network, designed to help take your business even further…
