Sentinel has launched a new online training academy

Currently in its 25th year in business, water treatment specialist Sentinel has launched a new online training academy. The Sentinel Academy offers a wide range of multimedia learning resources and it’s absolutely free to enrol.
The new site makes instantly available some of the 25 years of expertise that the Sentinel team has accumulated, highlighting the benefits of best practice water treatment for central heating systems. Perceptions of water treatment have altered dramatically from once being perceived as something of a black art into a now-essential process in the commissioning of every heating system in the UK, as recommended by the UK Building Regulations Compliance Guide.
The training academy was launched during October to coincide with the Plumb & Parts Center nationwide Wise Up to Water Treatment campaign, which this year runs for three whole months, stressing the importance of best practice water treatment in the central heating sector. The academy provides free-of-charge essential training and resources to installers, new or experienced, and to merchant staff. Indeed for anybody keen to know more about the problems which can arise without proper water treatment. Armed with this knowledge, they can best advise their customers on maintaining heating efficiency and prolonging the life of systems.
Those who are interested in learning more about water treatment as a subject and the role that Sentinel products play in restoring and maintaining heating efficiency can set up an account and immediately begin learning from the numerous resources available. Two interactive training modules cover the key scourges of central heating system efficiency – scale and corrosion. These modules highlight the causes and symptoms of each, how to tackle the problem with water treatment, and conclude with a small test to help the user confirm their understanding of the recommended best practice. In addition to this, there are other resources available, such as short videos, case studies, and downloadable information sheets.
UK Trade Marketing Manager, Daniel Cheung says it’s a vital new string to the Sentinel bow: “We’re responding to requests we have had from both the merchants and installers to provide easy access to the expertise we have amassed over the years. In the current climate, our research has suggested that installers in particular find it hard to justify giving up working time to attend a course based on a single area of their work, but that they would be interested in being able to access some easily available online information. This approach allows them to spend as much or as little time as they want refreshing their understanding of water treatment and Sentinel’s offering in terms of both information and products.”
Sentinel has one of the most comprehensive product offerings in the water treatment sector and the academy has been developed to support and continue this strong history of innovation. Daniel continued: “We wanted to give our customers the resources to allow them to better understand and confidently recommend quality water treatment to their customers, and to be able to identify the right product for each job. We hope that these training modules and the additional information will enable them to do just that for their clients.”
Gaining access to these modules and resources is quick, easy and free. Simply visit www.sentinel-academy.net, pop in your details and create an account. You will be given instant access. The flexibility of an online offering means that you can visit the site and train at any time of day, working around busy schedules. If you’d like to brush up on best practice or bring a new employee up to speed on the benefits of water treatment, this site is one to bookmark.
