If you asked us what comes to mind when we think of Great Britain, you’ll no doubt picture fish & chips, the great British pub and possibly Mini Coopers. As part of a celebration of its heritage in the UK and Europe, and to mark heating season, Martin Wilson from Resideo, talked to us about how the company’s latest initiative is rewarding the nation’s hard working heating and plumbing engineers, and why they’re doing it.
Many of you will be familiar with Resideo as a supplier of products and solutions that deliver comfort, safety, security and energy efficiency to your customers’ homes. What we didn’t know was that they were gamesmasters, or at least that seemed to be the case when we heard that they were launching a Resideopoly game. Is the company diversifying into a new market? We decided to grill them to find out more.
Is Resideo moving in a new direction with the launch of your ‘Resideopoly’ game?
No, not at all. We wanted to do something light-hearted to inject a bit of cheer for installers, during what has been a really tough year. We also wanted to celebrate the fact that our products are made in Britain and Europe, in a way which would allow installers to join in the celebrations too. So we came up with the idea of playing a time-honoured game where installers can win great prizes, and Resideopoly was born!
So what’s the idea behind Resideopoly?
Not only have we had to watch footie with fake crowd noise this year, but many of us have experienced the results of serious disruptions to the global supply chain throughout the pandemic – be that toilet rolls or hand gels.
Supply chain problems have affected businesses too, with many turning to suppliers closer to home to fulfil orders. For installers, turning to companies that manufacture in the UK and Europe means that they can get the technical and training support they need, avoid delays and get the job done.
At Resideo, we’ve been open for business throughout the fluid and fast-moving global health crisis to ensure that we can continue to supply installers from our UK and other European factories and warehouses, and be on hand to resolve product and sales queries. By doing this, we’re helping installers to maximise customer satisfaction, and subsequently encourage prompt payment to support their business recovery. They can also make a greener choice too compared with choosing products from further afield.
So, we wanted to reward all of those hardworking British installers and businesses as a way to not only say thanks for their loyalty in choosing our products, but if there’s a few prizes to bag and a bit of fun to be had along the way, even better!
