Vaillant clarifies that it is not working with BOXT

Heating technology manufacturer Vaillant has issued a statement on social media confirming that it is not working with smart home installation provider BOXT.
Vaillant confirmed that it “has no contractual or direct trading relationship with BOXT and any communication from BOXT which suggests otherwise, is not correct. Vaillant has worked extensively on their strategy in place for a number of years to support installers with TV advertising and business support.”

Simon Whysall – Sales Director, Digital – Vaillant Group UK also tweeted: “I can guarantee you all that @vaillantuk are not working with @Boxt_Clever. We are looking into this at HQ and have not issued any data to them. Out [sic] strategy is and has always been to #ProudlySupportInstallers”
The clarification came after several Vaillant installers reported to have received an email from BOXT, with the headline: ‘BOXT are delighted to announce we are now working with Vaillant boilers!’.

BOXT, which has been described as “UBER for boilers”, is an online platform where homeowners can choose a new boiler online, without the need for an initial site visit. The materials are then delivered to the home at a pre-arranged time and date, and a sub-contracted engineer working on behalf of BOXT will carry out the installation.
In a statement to Installer Mel Butler, co-founder of BOXT said: “Historically, we have offered Heatline boilers on the BOXT platform which are manufactured by Vaillant – a product which has always proven to be popular with our customers.
“We have now also added Vaillant boilers to our website, and have offered Vaillant installers, whose details are publicly available on the Vaillant website, the opportunity to fit them should they wish.”
