Combining Laura Ashley’s iconic designs with Grant Westfield’s proven wall panel technology, the new range gives installers a stylish, grout-free alternative to tiles that’s ideal for bathrooms, shower enclosures and other wet areas.
Designed for straightforward installation, the panels feature Grant Westfield’s Hydrolock® connection to create a seamless, fully waterproof finish while ensuring accurate pattern alignment. Quick to fit and requiring significantly less installation time than traditional tiling, the collection offers installers a practical solution that delivers on both performance and design. Here’s why installers should consider wall panels before reaching for tiles and the grout float.
Installation in 10 Simple Steps
Step 1 – Prepare Your Space
Before you begin, ensure your bath, shower or wet area is fully installed and securely fixed. Check that walls are clean, dry and suitable for installation, then carefully plan your panel layout to minimise cuts and achieve the best visual finish.
Step 2 – Gather Your Tools
Have everything ready before you start. You’ll need a tape measure, spirit level, pencil, track saw, drill, silicone gun, silicone sealant and the recommended installation profiles for your project.
Step 3 – Measure & Cut
Measure each wall carefully before marking your panels. Cut to size using a track saw for clean, accurate edges and a professional finish.
Step 4 – Dry Fit the Panels
Place each panel into position before fixing to check alignment, pattern matching and overall fit. Make any adjustments before installation begins.
Step 5 – Install the First Profile
Fit the first corner or edge profile securely, creating a neat starting point for the installation. This helps ensure every panel aligns perfectly from the very beginning.
Step 6 – Fix the First Panel
Leave a 3mm gap between the panels and the finished surface to ensure the silicone fully bonds and creates a waterproof seal.
Step 7 – Seal the Hydrolock® Joint
Apply a narrow bead of silicone to the Hydrolock® tongue before connecting the next panel. Push each panel firmly into place to create a secure, watertight joint.
Step 8 – Continue Around the Room
Continue fitting the remaining panels, checking they remain level and tightly joined. Use the appropriate finishing profiles around corners, windows and edges for a seamless appearance.
Step 9 – Waterproof & Finish
Seal all internal corners, vertical joints and the bath or shower edge with silicone to create a fully waterproof finish. Smooth away any excess sealant for a clean, professional result.
Step 10 – Enjoy the Finished Look
Your Laura Ashley bathroom wall panels are now installed, creating a stylish, durable and easy-to-maintain waterproof finish. Simply clean with warm water and a non-abrasive cleaner to keep them looking their best.
