EHC launches new Comet System boiler

The Electric Heating Company (EHC) has launched the new Comet System boiler, an updated version of its bestselling Comet PV.

In electric heating, more features are not always better as installers, homeowners and building owners look for simple, reliable and cost-effective products.

David Barrett, chief executive of EHC, the supplier of energy-efficient electric heating and hot water products, said:

“More features don’t automatically make for a better installation. It’s worth asking: ‘are we making heating more complicated than it needs to be?’.

“That’s worth considering as heating systems keep getting more sophisticated, packed with extra controls, functions and settings meant to boost flexibility and efficiency.”

While that will suit certain applications, when it comes to a lot of standard domestic jobs, it can add unnecessary complexity in the form of more components to juggle, more connections to make and more time spent commissioning, all of which slows the job down.

EHC has addressed all of those issues with the Comet System, an electric boiler that’s been deliberately kept simple and cost effective, being up to £210 cheaper than the Comet PV.

“That doesn’t mean cutting corners on performance or quality, though,” said Barrett. “It just means focusing on what actually matters: a reliable product, a straightforward install, and heating that does exactly what homeowners expect it to, all backed up with EHC’s great pre and post-sales support.

“For homeowners, a lot of extra features never even get noticed, let alone used. What they actually want is pretty simple: reliable heating and hot water, easy controls, and a system that just works.

“There’s a strong case for getting back to basics. A boiler should deliver dependable heat, be easy to install and commission, and offer enough flexibility to suit different properties, nothing more, nothing less.

“That’s the thinking behind the new Comet System boiler. Drawing on more than 21 years of specialist electric heating experience, it sticks to the essentials by delivering reliable central heating and hot water in a straightforward electric boiler that’s been designed with the installer in mind.

“Its compact design makes it easier to handle, and easy-fit connectors and sensors take the hassle out of installation and commissioning. With a range of output options across single and three-phase models, installers can pick the right spec for the job without piling on unnecessary complexity.”
