Over two-thirds of existing British homes don’t have the minimum set of heating controls required for new-build properties, which means that around 15 million households are missing out on their comfort and energy-saving benefits.

The Energy Saving Trust estimates that 40% of houses in the UK do not have a room thermostat, while up to two thirds of homes fail to meet the minimum requirements for heating control. There is a clear opportunity here for installers to grow their business through heating controls, and not just in the winter.
According to recent surveys, 82% of homeowners are worried about how they’ll pay to heat their homes in winter, so advice from installers as to how they can use controls to save money on their energy bills would be welcomed.
